Customer Returns: Sometimes just referred to as returns, this describes merchandise that has been purchased and then returned to the original retail, catalog, or online store for a refund or store credit. Often, returned merchandise is defective and/or in some way compromised.
Shelf Pull Merchandise: items that were merchandised in a retail setting and then removed for various reasons. A few reasons why might include: reached aging period, season change, new style or model available. The rate of damages is often far less than returns and often are due to excessive handling.
Salvage Merchandise: items have been inspected and found to be broken and/or missing parts.
Overstock Merchandise: Items that are in excess of retail need. Overstock items are often liquidated to generate capital for other inventory procurement.
