The number of individuals eBay has helped earn money online is quite impressive. Some eBay sellers manage to earn millions of dollars a year selling goods on the popular website. It’s no wonder that more and more individuals want to get in on what has proven to be a lucrative business model.
There are numerous ways to earn money on eBay. Buying goods locally for little money and selling it at a higher price (the buy low, sell high model) is one option. Making money as a ‘middle man’ or reseller is another. In order to do the latter, individuals need a quality wholesale supplier.
Finding a reputable wholesaler is crucial to the success of anyone hoping to earn money re-selling items on eBay. This, however, is perhaps, the most difficult part of the process. Finding good, trustworthy whole suppliers can be difficult.
Once an individual has managed to find a good wholesale supplier, the only thing left to do is post items on eBay and ship them as promised and on time. There a number of ways to find a reputable wholesale supplier online. We’ll discuss a few of them below.
Websites such as Wholesale Central, NREL, goWholesale and Alibaba list wholesale vendors. These are one-stop shops for individuals and organizations looking for a wholesaler supplier. Another approach is a little more involved but also very effective. It requires that individuals learn all that they can about the distribution channels in the industry they are looking to enter.
Determining where on the supply chain an individual needs to purchase the item they’d like to sale is extremely important. For instance, if a certain product is typically sold through a reseller, it may be possible to contact the wholesaler and negotiate terms that would allow them to purchase the item at a cheap enough rate that they can be competitive on eBay. On the other hand, if the product is sold directly from the manufacturer, it may not be possible to secure the item at a low enough price to be competitive and profitable. It may not be possible to secure the item at all if an individual is not able to purchase large enough quantities of it.
The manufacturer is the first place that a person who wants to resell items on eBay should go. Going directly to the source is often the best way to obtain goods to resell. The product is guaranteed to be authentic and will likely be of good quality. Going through a middle man (or woman) is a little more risky. Finding out who manufactures a product is pretty simple. An online search of “product x manufacturer” or “product x wholesale supplier” should yield the results a person is looking for.
